Shipping policy

 

 Overview

Shipping is a flat rate of $8.95 for dry goods and $65 for live animals.

When you purchase a reptile from Mossy Geckos, we will contact you within 24 hours to schedule a date for shipping.

Shipments are sent out on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings.

All reptiles are shipped via FedEx overnight shipping. Reptiles shipped to a Fedex Hub should arrive by 10:30AM.

Your reptile is shipped using the best practices in the industry. All reptiles are shipped according to IATA standards for live reptiles.

Depending on weather conditions, your reptile may be packed with hot and/or cold packs. The purpose of the hot/cold packs is to provide a stable environment through the shipping process.  Sometimes a combination of hot & cold packs may be used.

Shipments can only be made to the 48 continental states.  Any person who lives in a state which does not permit or explicitly bans the purchase and/or shipment of live reptiles is unable to purchase live reptiles from us at this time.

Payment methods accepted include Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay (via ShopPay), PayPal, and Zelle.  Personal Payment Plans are available directly through Mossy Geckos.  Please contact us at contact@mossygeckos.com to arrange Personal Payment Plans.

If you are new to the hobby, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at contact@mossygeckos.com for detailed information and directions to ensure your animal is happy and healthy.  Care sheets are available at mossygeckos.com, and if requested, we can ship a printed copy of the care sheet along with your order.

Shipping
Your reptile will be shipped in a comfortably sized container, secured, in a labeled and insulated "Live Animal" shipping box. All reptiles are shipped according to the Lacey Act, IATA (International Air Transport Association), and FedEx standards for shipping live reptiles.

Reptiles will be shipped once all of the following conditions are met:

A) Communication is established between Mossy Geckos and the purchaser (telephone, email, etc.

B) Shipping name, address, and other necessary information related to the shipping process is received.

C) The current and upcoming weather conditions have been assessed for shipping viability

D) Date of shipment and receiving are confirmed between Mossy Geckos and purchaser.

E) Payment for the entirety of the order has been received in full (ShopPay, Zelle, Payment Plans, etc.).

Weather Conditions
Weather is a factor when shipping live animals and a heat pack or cold pack may be necessary to keep the animal from getting too cold or too hot. For home delivery shipping temperature must be between 40°F to 85°F. Temperatures between 35°F to 90°F are required to be shipped to your local Fedex Hub. If weather does not permit for safe shipping we will hold the animal at no additional cost until weather gets permissible.

There must be a person at the home for shipping to a personal residence.  If picking up at a FedEx Hub, someone must be available to drive to pick up the animal upon arrival at the facility. If the animal is not picked up on the day it arrives, the Live Arrival Guarantee is void.

We strongly encourage shipping to your nearest FedEx Hub.  Pickup at the FedEx Hub minimizes unpredictable temperature variations throughout the shipping process, reducing stress on your animal and reducing unforeseen complications which can occur during direct delivery. 

Mossy Geckos LLC is not responsible for delays or damages which may occur during the shipping process. 

Live Arrival Guarantee
The following conditions must be met for us to honor our Live Arrival Guarantee:

A) The shipping information supplied by the purchaser must be accurate. There must be a person prepared to take delivery of the reptile upon first delivery.

B) If picking up your animal at the local FedEx Hub, the person responsible for receiving the animal must pick the order up the same day it arrives.

Note - Fedex will ask for your state issued identification (Driver’s license) upon pickup. This confirms you are the purchaser and owner of the live reptile shipped. Please ensure the person responsible for picking up your animal has this documentation at the time of pickup

72 Hour Health Guarantee
Mossy Geckos offers a 72 hour health guarantee on any reptile purchased from our website.  Proper care by the purchaser must be rendered upon pickup, including proper enclosure, water & food, and practicing general best practices regarding temperature and humidity.

This health guarantee does not include illness or injury occurring due to purchaser’s lack of proper care, accidents with other animals, or improper handling.

Issues and Claims
If an issue arises during the shipping process, customers must contact Mossy Geckos as soon as possible via phone call, text message, and/or email. A photo and quick video clearly showing the reptile are necessary to verify claims.

Sexing
Reptiles posted for sale on our website are listed as “unsexed.”  In parenthesis, next to each animal, we will list a probable judgement based on our observations, either “Male” or “Female.”  There is no sex guarantee for reptiles listed as “unsexed.”  For adult reptiles, we will list a definitive sex of “Male” or “Female.”  Mossy Geckos offers a guarantee regarding the sex of adults listed as “Male” or “Female.”

Holds & Payment Plans
Payment Plans are offered on animals over $100.  To put the animal on hold, we require 25% of the tax included total as non-refundable deposit for initial payment. The animal must be paid for in full within 14 days. Once an animal is put on hold, those funds cannot be transferred to another animal and/or purchase.

For animals over $300, the payment plan can be a max of 8 weeks (56 Days) from the date of the non-refundable deposit being provided by purchaser. There will be a care fee added of $25 per month to cover food and other expenses. Animals will not be shipped out until full payment is received. If you cannot complete the full payments, the 25% non-refundable deposit and care fees will not be refunded. All other funds will become store credit, exclusively used on the Mossy Geckos website.

All animals must be shipped out within two months unless otherwise discussed and documented; such as weather conditions do not permit shipping. If you commit to a purchase and send payment for an animal, you must respond within 3 weeks or the animal will be put back up for sale. We will do everything we can to try to get in contact with you via the contact information you provided. You can request a partial refund for in store credit, there will be a 25% fee taken from the total.

Shipping Policy Changes
Mossy Geckos LLC reserves the right to make adjustments to this Shipping Policy as necessary at any time in the future.
